Ruby E. Wodtka, 85, of Vandalia, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Overcup Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church. Memorials: Overcup Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wodtka was born on June 5, 1931, in rural Farina, the daughter of Herman John and Bonnie D. (Sutton) Meyer. She married Elmer Henry Wodtka on Sept. 18, 1949, in St. Peter; he passed away on Sept. 26, 2003.
She was a certified nurse's aide at Fayette County Hospital, a former waitress at Henry's and Robbins Restaurant, and a member of Overcup Baptist Church, all of Vandalia.
She is survived by her sons, David Wodtka and his wife Cheryl of Vandalia, Dennis Wodtka and his wife Debbie of Bingham, Doug Wodtka and his wife Marsha of Vandalia, Darrell Wodtka and his wife Carolyn of Shobonier, and Dallas Wodtka and his wife Jean of Ramsey; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
