Sheryl L. Brazle, 73, of Brownstown, died at 3:07 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Gieseking Funeral Home in Brownstown, with Mike Smith officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday and one hour before services on Sunday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: First Christian Church building fund or donor's choice. Sheryl was born on Monday, Sept. 17, 1945, in St. Elmo, the daughter of Hubert and Beulah (Schaub) Brazle.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Brownstown. She was employed for many years at Fayette County Hospital, and had also been employed at the Vandalia Police Department and YMCA.
She is survived by her sister, Susan (Terry) Smith of Brownstown; nieces and nephews, Mike (Lisa) Smith of Mt. Auburn, Chad (Amber) Smith of Altamont, Michelle (Loren) Blanton of St. Peters, Mo., Matthew (Jamie) Smith of Brownstown, and Mitchell (Gretchen) Smith of Sycamore; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Bessie.
