Tammy Lynn Warner McWhorter, 42, of Iola, formerly of Vandalia, died on Monday, May 20, 2013, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. There will be no burial; per Tammy's wishes, her body will be cremated after the services. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. McWhorter was born on March 8, 1971, in Vandalia. She was the daughter of Patricia Kaiser, and Tommy and Mitzi Anderson. She married Michael McWhorter on Dec. 21, 2007.
She was a certified nursing assistant for Doors Home Healthcare.
Tammy enjoyed four-wheeler-riding; all animals, especially horses; and going to the races and auctions; and she was a collector of primitive décor and candles. Some of her favorite things were camouflage, her boots and, most importantly, her granddaughter, Cheyenne.
She is survived by her mother, Patty Kaiser of Iuka; husband; son, Brady Carroll of Iola; daughters, Nichole Mullins of Iola and Jacie Mathis of Pinckneyville; granddaughter, Cheyenne Mullins of Iola; sisters, Debbie and her husband Paul "Bubby" Womack of Vandalia, and Monica and her husband Josh Morton of Iuka; brother, Nathan Anderson and his wife Chelsea of Union City, Tenn.; one niece; and four nephews, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her father, stepmother and one grandchild.
