Terry L. Cripe, 60, of Nokomis, formerly of Vandalia, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana, with the Rev. Amanda Richards officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials: . Online condolences can be expressed at www.mdfh.com.
Mr. Cripe was born on June 27, 1956, in Vandalia, the son of Merle Lee and Sylvanna Edna (Bond) Cripe.
Terry was born and raised in the Vandalia area, later moving to Decatur. On Oct. 27, 2001, Terry went on a first date with his best friend, Monica Reed, and they were married on May 7, 2006.
He was the owner and operator of Cripe Manufactured Housing Services. He was also a licensed auctioneer, as well as a member of the Illinois Manufactured Housing Association. He loved going to garage sales and auctions, and helping with Haycraft Auctions for more than 30 years. He enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, NASCAR Sprint Cup racing and get-aways to Tunica and Biloxi for gambling.
He is survived by his wife; children, Dawn Cripe, Jason Cripe and Joshua "J.D." Cripe; stepson, Anthony Krivi; two grandchildren, including grandson Jayden Cripe, with whom he had a special bond; brothers, Rick Cripe, Joe Cripe and Larry Cripe; and sister, Diana and her husband Gary Pettijohn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
