Thomas Leroy "Tom" Grames, 65, of Loogootee, passed away at 7:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at noon on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee. Memorials: The family. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Mr. Grames was born on Dec. 12, 1947, in St. Elmo, the son of Clinton and Hazel Townsend Grames.
He worked for a variety of employers throughout the years, starting at Fedders in St.
Elmo, then at Altamont Pant Factory and most recently at Walmart in Vandalia. Her served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his mother, of Altamont; wife, Barbara Becker of Loogootee; son, Calvin Grames and his friend Staci Margenthaler of Humboldt; stepdaughtes, Rebecca Morche of Belleville, Mich., and Eva and her husband Dan Fischer of St. Louis, Mo.; stepson, Paul Carl Becker of Loogootee; sisters, Mary Ann Kline of Altamont, Nellie and her husband John Johnson of Altamont, and Martha Merrill of Shelbyville; brothers, Gary Grames of St. Elmo, Dwight Grames of Brownstown and Dick Grames of Altamont; and grandchildren, Luke Grames, Mannie Grames, Shay Margenthaler, Allyssa Becker, Lauren Becker and Dalton Miculinich.
