Verna E. Moeller, 89, of Decatur, formerly of St. Peter, passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery in Mt. Auburn. Mrs. Moeller was born on Nov. 12, 1928, in St. Peter, the daughter of Herman and Bertha (Remmert) Graumenz. She married Wilmer Moeller on Nov. 25, 1945, in St. Peter, and of that union, they had five children together.
She was employed as a line assembly worker at GE, Caterpillar and Borg-Warner. She later worked for the school district, assisting children with disabilities as they would board the school bus. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Verna was also an avid Cubs fan, and loved playing cards with her family.
She is survived by her children, Karen Barnes (John) of Decatur, Kathleen Goddard (Mark) of Sydney, Australia, Marsha Senger (Steve) of Decatur, and Mark K. Moeller (Pam) of Exeter, N.H.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Marie Moeller, at her birth; a brother, Elroy Graumenz; a sister, Lorene Fulfer; and her companion of 34 years, James D. Davis.
