Virgil Otto Winter, 73, of rural Altamont, died at 11:51 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at his home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, with the Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, with military rites accorded by Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post 520. Memorials: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 203 E. Mr. Winter was born on Dec. 1, 1940, at his parents' home in rural Altamont, the son of George and Jennie Siebert Winter. He married Marilyn Kay Teter on Oct. 2, 1965.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Kevin Winter and his fiancée Terri of Altamont, and Travis Winter and his wife Vanessa of Altamont; and daughters, Traci and her husband Wesley Duckworth of St. Elmo, and Krystal Overbeck of Altamont.
