Obituary

Vivian M. Hewing, 71, of Neoga, formerly of Vandalia, died at 3:52 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Neoga, with the Rev. Sunder Ery officiating. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery in Sigel. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at the church, with a 7 p.m. wake service, followed by a parish rosary led by St. Mary's Alttar Society. Mrs. Hewing was born on July 9, 1943, in Vandalia, the daughter of Leslie C. and Dorothy M. Cunningham McNary. She married Arthur L. Hewing on July 13, 1974, in Vandalia.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Bryan Hewing of Ballwing, Mo., Chandler "Chad" Hewing and his wife Amy of Teutopolis, and Michael Hewing of rural Neoga; and daughters, Melissa Hewing of Ballwin, Mo., and Jennifer Hewing of rural Neoga.
