Wilmer Kastner, 88, of St. Peter, died at 12:40 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Shobonier. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Memorials: St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or Glenwood Assisted Living in Effingham.
Mr. Kastner was born on Sept. 22, 1924, the son of Louis and Ida Rebbe Kastner. He married Gertrude Lange on May 26, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church; she died on April 27, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Kent Kastner and his wife Joyce of Shobonier; and daughters, Joyce and her husband Bruce Robb of Kinmundy, and Caroln and her husband Ed Smalley of Henderson, Tenn.
