Wolfram Schlicht, 74, of Vandalia, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at his home.
Per Wolfram's wishes, his body was donated to science via the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. A reception to celebrate his life will be held in Wesley Hall immediately following church services on Sunday, April 3. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Schlicht was born on Nov. 14, 1941, in Berlin, Germany, the son of Frank and Charlotte (Rossbach) Schlicht.
Wolfram served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, and was a retired engineer from the railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean "Jeanne," whom he married on June 15, 1987; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Samantha Randolph.
