Ruth Mattingly, 88, Lebanon, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1925 in Marion County. Mattingly was a retired employee of J.J. Newberry and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Henry and Mary Catherine Abell Mattingly; five sisters, Mary Catherine Mudd, Martha Mattingly, Mary Imogene "Jean" Mattingly, Clarice Spalding, and Teresa Madeline Mattingly; and three brothers, Robert Lee, Bertrand, and John H. Mattingly.
Survivors include: a brother, Bernard Mattingly of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. George Illikkal officiated.
Active pallbearers were James F. Murphy, and Frank, Barry, Andy, George and Archie Mattingly.
Honorary pallbearers were Brian Browning, and Steven and Bob Mattingly.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
