Mitchell Wade "Mitch" Price, 48, Lindside, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family and friends after a short, hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1965 in Lebanon, and was the son of Eugene and Charlene Price of Lebanon.
He was a member of Brush Grove Baptist Church in Willisburg, and was affiliated with Orchard Christian Church in Ballard, W.Va. He was employed with Centria, Inc. in Frankfort, for 19 1/2 years. After relocating to Lindside, W. Va. he was employed with Union Disposal. He loved working with wood, making and creating many gifts for his loved ones and friends. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor and joke telling. He loved landscaping, working in his garden and with his flowers. He will most importantly be remembered for his love for our God Almighty and for his family and friends. He had hardworking Christian ethics, faith and courage. His love for mankind touched many lives in such a special way. His memory will forever be held in all the hearts of those you knew him.
He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Woodie and Lottie Price; paternal grandparents, Bill and Fannie Price; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his loving wife, Loretta Crawford Price; one son, Chris Price; one daughter Candace Price, both of Willisburg; one sister, Imogene Price Brockman of Lebanon; his father and mother-in-law, Bobby and Joyce Crawford; brother-in-law, Joe Crawford all of Lindside, W.Va.; sister-in-law, Karen Hammonds and fiancé, Tim Gore of Ballard, W.Va., and several nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles, and a large extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with Rev. Rusty Hughes and Pastor Everett Hood officiating. Burial will follow in West Virginia on Thursday April 3, 2014.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Mattingly Funeral Home.
