Benedict Abell ""Ben"" Ford(1950 - 2013)

Benedict Abell "Ben" Ford, 63, Calvary, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on March 1, 1950 in Marion County. Ford was a U.S. Army veteran, a police service officer with the Lebanon Police Department, and a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph Spalding and Mary Elizabeth Mattingly Ford; and a brother, Joseph Spalding "Joe Joe" Ford.
Survivors include: his wife, Rita Russell Ford of Calvary; a son, Kevin Ford of Calvary; a daughter, Amanda Lee Ford of Calvary; five brothers, Harold Ford of Louisville, Robert and Leo (Sue Ellen) Ford both of Lebanon, James (Nancy) Ford of Louisville, and Lawrence (Barbara) Ford of Mt. Washington; four sisters, Mary Vancannon of Louisville, Virginia (Tommy) Green of Holy Cross, Kathleen (Harold) Young of Lebanon, and Dorothy (Mike) Riggs of Calvary; a sister-in-law, Linda Ford of Calvary; an aunt, Cora Thomas of Lebanon; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. Rev. George Illikkal and Rev. Chris Rhodes officiated.

Pallbearers were Jodie, Mike, Michael, Larry, Kevin and Mark Ford, and Steve and Emmett Green.
