Bess Newton Isaacs, 103, Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, July 2,2013 at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1909 to the late Thomas G. and Minnie Elizabeth Newton.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Hugh Isaacs; two sons, Ralph and Owen Isaacs; three grandchildren, Pat Isaacs, Alice Ball, and Lisa Burke; three brothers; Jim, Otha, and Jessie Clarence Newton; and six sisters, Altha Bland, Mary Kemp, Minnie Turner, Dolly Begaman, Helen Webb, and Dorothy Mae Newton.
Survivors include: a daughter, June Bruskewitz of Chicago; two nephews, Donald Webb and Charlie Webb, both of Lebanon; seven nieces, Linda Howell and Sue Mattingly, both of Lebanon, Shirley Stanton of Illinois, Theresa Campbell and Joan Dehmel, both of Indiana, and Doris Withrow and Ruth Meadows, both of Ohio; her grandchildren, William Owen Isaacs, Linda Martin, Benda Privette, Harry M. Isaacs, Tom Isaacs, David Isaacs, Tim Isaacs, Steven Burke, Frankie Burke, Bobby Isaacs, Kara Martina, Steven Isaacs, and Tad Isaacs; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in the Ryder Cemetery. Rev. Ed Amundson officiated.
Pallbearers were Trevor Netherland, Charlie Webb, Donald Webb, Joe Mattingly, David Isaacs, and Johnny Ewing.
Honorary pallbearers were William Owen Isaacs, Harry Isaacs, Tom Isaacs, and Tim Isaacs.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
