Billy Conway Lanham, 78, Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital after an illness.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1934 to the late Leslie and Sybil Graham Lanham. Lanham served in the Navy, was an employee of the A&P store and Foodtown, and was also a deacon at Lebanon Baptist church.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by: one brother, Garnet Lanham; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Camden Smith and Lex Ivan Votaw.
Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Shirley Peavy Lanham of Lebanon; one sister, Geneva Cox of Michigan; four daughters, JoAnna (Frank) Donahue and Tracy Lucas of Lebanon, Donna (Tim) McQueary of Loretto, and Beth Wayne of Raywick; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery. Dr. David Whitlock and Bro. Josh Hicks officiated.
Active pallbearers were Joe Michael Votaw, James Buster, Joey Wheatley, J.D. Hoeck, Josh Gordon, and Brandon Jennings.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Donahue, Tim McQueary, Roger Howard, and Thomas Peavy.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
