Blanche Cecilia Elder Thomas, 64, Loretto, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
She was born on April 7, 1949, in Marion County. Thomas worked as a production specialist at American Greetings Company.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 44 years, Francis Earl "Frank" Thomas; her parents, Hubert Martin and Clara Cecilia Higdon Elder; and a sister, Edna Mae Elder.
Survivors include: a daughter, Susan Carpenter (Travis) Grady of Loretto; a son, Marty (Julie) Thomas of Lebanon; four sisters, Grace White of Loretto, Kathy Wimsatt of Bardstown, Margie Blandford of St. Francis, and Martha Jean (Lane) Harris of Louisiana; six brothers, Dave (Sandy) Elder of Rockland, Calif., Jerry (Sadie) Elder of Raywick, Phillip (Judy) Elder of Lebanon, Greg (Carlotta) Elder and Martin Elder both of Loretto, and Mitchell (Ann) Elder of Mt. Washington; six grandchildren, Kara, Anna and Michael Carpenter, Kristen Cox, Dylan Thomas and Alexis Carrier; two great-grandchildren, Andy and Tommy Cox.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at St. Charles Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiated.
Active pallbearers were Michael Carpenter, Jon Roller, Dylan Thomas, Adam Elder, Stuart Cox, and P.J. Elder.
Honorary pallbearers were Kristen Cox, Kara Carpenter, Anna Carpenter, Andy Cox, Tommy Cox, Alexis Carrier, Eric Elder, Stephanie Fowler, Wanda Couch, Stephanie Harris, Fred Boone, Lelan Tharp, Joe Mattingly, Maggie Barns.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
