Carl Anthony Rakes

Deputy Carl Anthony Rakes, 31, Bradfordsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1981, in Marion County. Rakes was a member of the Lebanon Police Department for two years and then a member of Marion County Sheriff's Department for six years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Carl Eugene and Alicia Darlene Lyons Rakes.
Survivors include: two sisters, Anita Elder and Regina Ewing, both of Lebanon; a niece, Alicia Mattie Ewing; a nephew, Kenneth Ray Ewing Jr.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Marion County High School gymnasium, with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Bo Sherrell officiated.
Active pallbearers were Tim Abell, Scott Mattingly, Morris Farris, Brian Sherrell, Fred Cornett, and Chris Brady.
Honorary pallbearers were the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
