Carl Edward Wilcher Sr., 78, Finley, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1934, in Marion County. Wilcher was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Irene Virginia Paris Wilcher; his parents, Donzie W. Sr. and Ruby Mae Shipp Wilcher; a son, Michael Moore; a daughter, Carolyn Wilcher; a grandson, D.J. Wilcher; and a brother, Lawrence Wilcher.
Survivors include: two sons, Rev. Carl (Calla) Wilcher Jr. of Mt. Sterling and David (Kim) Wilcher of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Donna Ann Wilcher of Finley and Deborah (Roger) Bast of Campbellsville; four brothers, Donzie Jr. and Randall Wilcher, both of Cox's Creek, James Wilcher of Lebanon and Thomas Wilcher of Campbellsville; eight sisters, Jeanette Kays of Bowling Green, Virginia Moore and Boonie Johnson, both of Louisville, Louise Wright of Cox's Creek, Mary Helen Newcome of Lebanon, and Myrtle Buckman, Ruth Buckman and Rita Wise, all of Campbellsville; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Carl Wilcher Jr. officiated.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions toward funeral expenses.
Pallbearers were John, Joshua, Deatrick and Carl Wilcher III, and Matthew and Cody Bast.
Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
