Frances Rita Mattingly, 90, Lebanon, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Center.
She was born on July 13, 1923 in St. Mary's. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, William Owen Mattingly; her parents, Matthew Walker and Mary Catherine Thompson Vowels; a son, Patrick Mattingly; a grandson, Mark Mattingly; an infant granddaughter, Amy Jo Mattingly; a half brother, Johnnie Gault; and a half sister, Olivia Bauer.
Survivors include: four sons, Joseph W. (Suella) Mattingly and James F. (Theresa) Mattingly, both of Lebanon, Richard A. (Gina) Mattingly of Lexington and Tony W. (Sandy) Mattingly of Lancaster; five daughters, Mary (Jerry) Carpenter of Gravel Switch, Catherine (Don Farrar) Wheatley of Pensacola, Fla., Camilla (Warren "Sike") Hafley and Susan L. Mattingly, both of Lebanon, and Carmel (Duane) Sisk of Jeffersonville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in St. Charles Church Cemetery. Rev. Bill Bowling officiated.
Active pallbearers were David, Brian and Derick Mattingly, Joshua Bandy, Mark Whitehouse, and Matthew Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Jessica, Casey and Abby Mattingly, Rachel Bandy, Tyler and Joe Brown, and Michael Kessler.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
