Frances Thornton Tucker, 100, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.
She was born on June 20, 1913 to the late Millard and Mary Beard Thornton, and was married to the late Everett Tucker. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1936. She was a schoolteacher
who taught home economics for many years at schools in Bradfordsville, Flemingsburg, Stanford, and Lebanon. Teaching was an integral part of her life, whether it be in the school, church or community. She also enjoyed her bridge clubs, Monday Study Club and Thoreau Club. She was a devoted Christian and member of the Bradfordsville United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Throughout her life she was blessed in many ways with caregivers who have tended to her needs in her home and for the last several years at the Village of Lebanon.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Thornton Tucker, M.D. and his wife Caron Larsen Tucker; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Frances Tucker, and Austin Thomas Tucker.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Bradfordsville United Methodist Church with burial at Old Liberty Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Fannie Brown, Margaret Clark, Louise Gribbins, Mary Lois and Jimmy Grundy, Shelia Hanks, Anna Bell Smith, Betty and Weeter Southall, Marie Spragens, Nancy Spragens, and Sue Stafford.
