Gerald Kenneth Hillman, 75, Lebanon, died suddenly on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 29, 1937 in Marion County. Hillman was a retired employee of Louisville General Electric and Reynolds Aluminum, both in Louisville. He was a member of Lebanon Lions Club and a former member of the Lebanon Jaycees. He was an avid history buff, and a lifelong fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Nascar racing and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles Wesley and Mary Alice Fitzpatrick Hillman; two brothers, Frank Willard Hillman and Harold Clayton Hillman; a sister, Mildred Lorraine Milburn; a sister-in-law, Virginia Carter Hillman; a brother-in-law, Joe Buckler; and a nephew, Joseph David Buckler.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Turner Hillman of Lebanon; two sons, Steve (Tina) Hillman and Kenneth (Jackie Rogers) Hillman, all of Lebanon; two daughters, Tana and Mona Hillman, both of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Caitlyn, E.J., Jonathan, Tessa, Kenny, and Evan Hillman; three step-grandchildren, Stephanie Greenwell, Christy and Brian Rogers; one step-great-grandchildren, Amethyst Sky Colvin; a brother, Charles Dillard Hillman of Paducah; two sisters-in-law, Betty Buckler and Frankie (Leo) Nalley; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeff Nalley, Chris Buckler, Tony Nalley, Ryan Medlin, Kevin Buckler, and Kyle Medlin.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lebanon Leions Club, Tim Clark, Tommy Whitehouse, Kathy Browning, John Thomas, Paul Powell, Gerald Abell, and Frank Thomas.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
