Jackie L. Caudill, 53, of Fort Thomas, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at his brother's home where he was cared for by his sister-in-law, Kimberly Caudill, after losing his long battle with cancer.
He was born in Lebanon on April 11, 1959. He graduated from Jeffersontown High School, class of 1977 and was well known for his basketball career. His career in life was a business sales executive. Caudill served our country for four years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was known in his Ft. Thomas neighborhood as the "Protector" and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Carolyn Barlow Caudill Jacobs, and his two younger brothers, Kevin and Dennis Caudill.
Survivors include: his father, Junior Caudill of Lebanon; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Kimberly Caudill of Newport; three nephews, Gary Caudill Jr., Dennis Caudill Jr., and Kevin Caudill Jr., all of Louisville; three nieces; Heather Roberts of Newport, and Lauren Elstone and Dana Caudill, both of Louisville; and three great-nieces and three great-nephews also survive along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home in Lebanon with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Clellan Hayes officiated.
Pallbearers were Gary Caudill, Gary Caudill Jr., Dennis Caudill Jr., Matt O'brian, Mark Mockbee, and Joey Mullins.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
