James Earl Thomas, 71, Louisville, formerly of Calvary, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 in Louisville.
He was born in Lebanon on July 27, 1942, and was a registered architect, licensed by the state board to practice in Kentucky, until his retirement in 2008. During his 44-year career, he was employed by Luckett & Farley Architects in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 27 years, Joan Marie Wiseman; parents, John William Sr. "Jay", and Elizabeth Bland "Lib" Thomas of Calvary; a sister, Margaret Ann Thomas, and a brother, John William Thomas Jr.
Survivors include: his daughter, Rebecca Crum (David) of New Albany, Ind.; sons, Austin V. Thomas of Spokanne, Wash.; and Damon M. Thomas of Louisville; two grandchildren, Mallory Crum and Ryan Crum of New Albany, Ind.; brother, Pat Thomas (Mary Helen) of Lebanon; and sisters, Susan Allgeier of Louisville and Sr. Mary Amada "Wanetta" of Alexandria, Va.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, Louisville, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 P.M. Monday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
