John Henry 'Boog' Wathen Jr., 79, Lebanon, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on April 27, 1933 in Lebanon. Wathen was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company, a U.S. Army
veteran, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John Henry Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Doody Wathen; and a sister, Mollie Lee Wathen.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Bowling Wathen of Lebanon; two sons, John H. Wathen and Michael B. (Terry) Wathen, both of Lebanon; two daughters, Lisa Eubank of Lebanon and Suellen (Dr. Greg) D'Angelo of Lexington; a brother, Patrick Doody (Doris) Wathen of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Brown (David) Homme of Fullerton, Calif., Linda Sue (Harold) Eberenz of Maineville, Ohio, and Catherine Anita Schumacher of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jim Russell (Amber) and Kathleen Eubank, Daniel and Alex Wathen, and Joellen, John and Louisa D'Angelo.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Bill Bowling officiated.
Pallbearers were Jim Russell Eubank, Eric Homme, Daniel Wathen, Chris Bowling, Pat Wathen Jr., and Don Woods.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
