Marita Joan Mattingly, 79, Coldwater, Ohio, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at Celina Manor.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1933 in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late John and Marie (Buschur) Winhoven. On May 22, 1954 she married her husband of 59 years, William Simeon Mattingly, originally of Loretto, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio, of which she was a lifetime member. She was also a member of the St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cared for the family as they grew throughout the years. She was employed at Coldwater Hospital for 13 years.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, four brothers, Ralph, Virgil, Paul and Vernon Winhoven; and a sister-in-law, Esther Winhoven.
Survivors include: her husband, William Mattingly of Coldwater, Ohio; a daughter, Mary Joan and Ray Belkofer of New Albany; three sons, James and Deborah Mattingly of Phillipsburg; Robert and Mary Mattingly of St. Henry, and Richard and Melanie Mattingly of Findlay; 10 grandchildren, Alex and Ross Belkofer, Eric Master, Bryan, Allison, Brent, Brianne, Brooke, Lydia and Lucas Mattingly; two sisters, Rosella Winhoven of Celina and Mary Ann and John Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Ohio; a brother, Harold Winhoven of Coldwater, Ohio; in-laws, David and Rita Mattingly, Bryan Jr. and Betty Mattingly, Mary Frances Conn, Emma Jean and Bob Miles, Mary B. Mattingly and Ann Sophia and Tom Barr, all of Louisville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio, with burial in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Ohio.
