Martha Ann Brown, 83, Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Suburban Hospital, Louisville.
She was born on April 27, 1930 in Lebanon. Brown was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, and was a retired Marion County Board of Education employee, having worked for the board over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Willie Brown; her parents, James (Buffalo) and Agnes Claybrooks Vaughn; a daughter, Joann Brown; a son, William Kevin Brown; a sister, Anna Marie Vaughn; and a brother, Tommy Vaughn.
Survivors include: six daughters, Mary Ann Johnson (James) of Louisville, Juanita Manley (Foster) of Decatur, Ga., Phyllis Johnson (Fonzie) of Lebanon, Martha Edelen of Louisville, Joanna Kemp (Bernard) of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Gail King (John) of Lebanon; a son, Keith Brown (Cheryl) of Kennesaw, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, Christy, Stephanie, Angie, Davian, Michael, Ashley, Joseph Jr., Brianna, Ann-Michelle, Natalie, Allyson, Andrea, Alexis, and Keith Ashton; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Bell officiated.
Pallbearers were Davian Manley, Earl Sandusky, Benny Greenwell, Ronnie Johnson, Joseph Edelen Jr., and James Walker.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
