Sister Miriam Medley

Sister Miriam Medley, 93, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Nov. 26 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 73rd year of religious life.
A native of Loretto, she was born Jane Marice Medley, the daughter of the late Albert Wesley and Catherine Blandford Medley.
She devoted 53 years of her life to education. She served as principal of St. Charles Junior High School, Lebanon (1970-75) and Holy Name of Mary, Calvary (1954-60). She taught at St. Joseph School, Raywick (1941-45). She was also a principal or teacher in Louisville, Maple Mount, Peonia, Owensboro, Flaherty and in Missouri. She was the librarian at Brescia College (now University) in Owensboro from 1987-94. In addition, she was a pastoral minister in Princeton, Ky. (1986-87) and Aztec, N.M. (1994-98). She retired to the motherhouse in 1998 and was active in prayer ministry.
Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Daugherty of Louisville, nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Mount Saint Joseph.
