Patricia Ann Hollingsworth, 86, a resident of Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine, formerly of Michigan, died at Sansbury Care Center on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1927 in Chicago, Ill. She attended Rosary College in River Forest, Ill. where she studied nutrition and was a certified nursing assistant. She fulfilled multiple roles in her lifetime, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, coworker and friend always with kindness, devotion and patience. She was a talented seamstress, cook and domestic engineer. She spent most summers of her life on the South Side of Portage Lake in Onekama, Mich. Her true life's legacy is her commitment to and love of her family, which as a reflection of her continues to grow and prosper in her likeness.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Francis "Jack" and Theresa Mary Magrady Hollowed; her husband, James Walter Hollingsworth whom she married on April 30, 1949, and three sisters, Mary Rita Mackin, Jeanne Frances Carroll and Margaret Mary Parisot.
Survivors include: five sons, Michael (Mary) Hollingsworth of Branford, Conn., Thomas (Mary Sue) Hollingsworth of Winfield, Ill., John (Beth) Hollingsworth of Manassas, Va., Peter (Mary Jo) Hollingsworth of Chesterton, Ind. and Stephen (Dani) Hollingsworth of Holland, Mich.; five daughters, Margaret (Mike) Zimmerman of Bear Lake, Mich., Jeanne (Edmund) Bikulcius of Warrenville, Ill., Dr. Anne (Phillip Farese) Hollingsworth of Chesterton, Ind., Terri (Jeff) Collison of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Dr. Patricia (John) Hollingsworth-Cecconi of Springfield; 31 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 22, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Onekama, Mich. Rev. Culpepper Elliott will officiate.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Jacob Collison, Jonathan and Michael Bikulcius, Stephen, John Patrick and James Cecconi.
Honorary pallbearer was 2nd Lt. Nicholas Hollingsworth.
