Eugene Louis Watson, age 85 of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at his residence. Born on August 23, 1927 in Taylor County, Watson was the owner and operator of Watson Tile Company until his retirement, and was a farmer.ÊHe was an avid antique car buff, belonging to the Tri-County Car Club of Campbellsville.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eva Louise Gordon Watson who passed away on March 9, 2012; his parents, Ray Adolphus and Lilith Vivian Benningfield Watson; two brothers, Elsworth and Charles Watson; and two sisters, Luella Finn and Agnes Louise Pendygraft.
Survivors include: oneÊson, Gordon Louis Watson, of Springfield; three daughters, Wanda (Charles) Tharp, of Lebanon, Alice (Jerry) Watteau, of New Albany, IN, and Eva Jo (Greg) Nugent, of Lebanon; two sisters, Elleen (the late Harry)ÊHamilton, of Richmond, VA and Virginia (Sherman)ÊWillard, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Brandi (Corey) Ingram, of Clarksville, IN, Nena (Billy) Olivier, of Springfield, Charles Lewis "Louche" Gaddie of Lebanon, and Caleb Nugent of Lexington; six great-grandchildren, Olivia Gaddie of Lebanon, Tyler and Ethan Ingram, of Clarksville, IN, Cassity and Waylon Gaddie, of Bardstown and Carter Olivier, of Springfield. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Ryder Cemetery. Rev. Dan Durham, pastor of Stewarts Creek Baptist Church, officiated.
Active pallbearers were grandson, Caleb Nugent and Tri-County Car Club members Al Hardin, Harvey Wethington, Barkley Courtwright, Carl Mattingly and Leon Statz.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilbur and Jerry Davis, DonnieÊBrockman, Billy and Marvin Gardner, DavidÊHardin, John and Matthew Courtwright, Benny Blair, Birbon Elliott, Paul Hardesty, Jerry Tutt, Tom Colvin and Tommy Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Marion County Association for the Handicapped, 516 Workshop Lane, Lebanon, KY 40033.
