Helen Cecelia Miles, 91, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Nazareth Home in Louisville.
She was born Feb. 28, 1922 in Holy Cross.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Cleaver Miles; her parents, Augustine Celestine Wheatley and Mary Eliza Kelty Murphy; one son, Thomas Raymond Miles; and one daughter, Brenda Reid.
Survivors include: five daughters, Jeanette Burdette, Mary Hagan, and Monica Mills all of Louisville, Rita Goldstein of Bardstown, and Sheila Smith of Harrodsburg; and four sons, Mark Miles of Mount Washington, Gus Miles of Bardstown, Donnie Miles of Loretto and Benny Miles of Louisville.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Matthew Hardesty will be the celebrant.
Visitation is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road, Louisville and from 4-9 p.m. Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 8:45 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Rosary Cemetery or Nazareth Home.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
