Henry 'Sonny' Peavy Jr., 77, Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1940 in Marion County. He was a former truck driver with Nally and Haydon Surfacing in Lebanon and member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Tammy Newton; and his parents, Henry and Gladys Josephine Powell Peavy.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rachel Minor Peavy; one son, Terry Peavy (Carol) of Bardstown; one son-in-law, Mark Newton of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Ann-Rachelle Newton (Joey) of Lebanon and Tanner Newton (Ariel) of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Barbara Willard (Darrell) of Paris, Peggy Kirkland (Jimmy), and Debbie Peavy all of Lebanon; and two brothers, Lacky Peavy (Peggy) of Lebanon and Danny Peavy (Bonnie) of Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 236 North Spalding Avenue, Lebanon, with burial in Ryder Cemetery. Dr. Chris Howlett will officiate.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
Pallbearers are Mark Newton, Tanner Newton, Tommy Beaven, Jimmy Willard, Jimmy Kirkland, Scott Lanham, and Robert Lanham.
Memorials may go to Lebanon United Methodist Church.
