James Beavers, 85, Lebanon, passed away Sunday, June 22, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 6, 1928 in Marion County. Beavers was a retired employee of Lebanon Housing Authority where he worked 37 years in maintenance. He was also a member of the Lebanon Fire Department for 22 years, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Elizabeth Kathryn Tungate Beavers; his parents, Henry Bluford and Mary Agnes Williams Beavers; a son, Paul Wesley Beavers; four brothers, Virgil, Charlie, Carl, and J.B. Beavers; and three sisters, Myrtle Cochran, Catherine Brady, and Pearlie Rodgers.
Survivors include: two sons, James Alan (Joan) Beavers of Knifley and John David Beavers of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Shawn Alfaro, Alan Beavers Jr., Kay Turpin, and Brandon Beavers; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Gabriel Alfaro, Paige Beavers, and Wheatley Turpin.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with interment in Old Liberty Cemetery. Elder Garland Buckman and Elder Doyle Crenshaw officiated.
Pallbearers were Allan Beavers Jr., Brandon Beavers, Elby Alfaro, Jordon Alfaro, Gabriel Alfaro, and Tommy Beavers.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
