Joseph Vincent Cissell, 80, Raywick, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Village of Lebanon Nursing Home.

Born April 1, 1932 in Raywick, Cissell was a retired employee of General Electric, a farmer and a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by: his grandmother who raised him, Mary Agnes Cissell; his father and mother, Gilbert and Gladys Gribbins Cissell; one son, Gary Cissell; one son-in-law, Val Blatz; and one step-sister, Denise Hayden.
Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Mary Lou Hardesty Cissell; four daughters, Lou Ann Blatz and Cindy Ohlmann (Doug) all of Louisville, Robyn Howard (Michael "Doc") of Lebanon, Terri Borders (Chad) of Bardstown; one son, Scott Cissell (Kathy) of Raywick; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Cissell, Cory Thompson, Michael Cissell, Alexis Beeler, Ben Blatz, Trey Abell, Courtney McKinney, Paige O'Bryant, Madison Borders; seven great-grandchildren; four half-sisters, Pat Ramsey of Lebanon, Barb Sauer, Janet Murphy and Pam Brooks all of Louisville; and three half-brothers, Junie Fowler of Bardstown, Richard Fowler of Lebanon and John Fowler of California.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Raywick, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. James W. Graf was the celebrant and Rev. Deacon Joseph Dant assisted.
Pallbearers were the grandsons and sons-in-law.
Honorary pallbearers were the granddaughters and Merriell Mattingly and Tommy Downs.
Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of arrangements.
