Lily Marie "Titter" Mudd Gerton, 66, 511 E. High Street, Springfield, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1947 in Washington County. Gerton was employed as a press operator at Jane and Linda Sportswear in Marion County for many years. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Springfield until she departed this life.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis Edward and Mary Ellen "Dolly" Moore Mudd; two brothers, Louis Mudd Sr. and Eugene Mudd; and two sisters, Mary Rose Reed and Isabell Lydian.
Survivors include: her husband, James "Ronnie" Gerton; two sisters, Sally Porter of Lebanon and Lucille (Gene) Groves of Campbellsville; a stepson, Dante (Serena) Smalley; two step-grandchildren, Danielle and Marcus; nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass will be at held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Springfield.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield with prayer service at 7 p.m. Father Ben Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery in Springfield.
Active pallbearers will be David Reed, Michael Mudd, Allen Mudd, Charles Raymond Mudd, Sonny Key and Ted Key.
Honorary pallbearers will be David "Bird Man" Yocum, Johnny "BaBa" Key, Paul Gerton and Gary Ellery.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
