Lovie Bell, 94, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.

She was born on June 15, 1918 in Greensburg. Bell gave her life to Christ at a young age when she joined Pleasant Union Baptist Church. In her later years she became a member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon. She worked for many years as a housekeeper and nanny for Elmer George's family and Sam May's family. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and having a good time with her family and friends. Miss Lovie, as she was most often referred to, often hosted gatherings at her home and everyone was always welcomed.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Cora Knight Haskins; three sisters, Leavy Haskins, Alice Anderson, and Hazel Thompson; two brothers, Joseph and James Haskins; and three daughters; Linda Bell, Arnita Barnett, and Anna Pirela.
Survivors include: her daughter, Alene West of North Aurora, Ill.; three sons, James Thomas Bell of Lebanon, Ronnie Bell of Columbus, Ohio, and Donnie (Angela) Bell of Nashville, Tenn., 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Ryder Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Calhoun officiated.
Pallbearers were Andre and Demone Williams, Ronnie, Donnie and Tony Bell, and Derek Wright.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
