Robert "Bob" King Salyers Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with his loved ones by his side.
He was born on July 26, 1944 to the late Robert King Salyers Sr. and Loretta Salyers. Bob was a lawyer practicing in the field of real estate. He was a 1967 graduate of Western Kentucky University and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and 1970 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He was an Air Force veteran and an avid UofL fan and supporter. Bob loved life and everyone in it. He never met a stranger and treated everyone the same no matter their role in life. He was a kind and generous man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Abigail Salyers.
Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Salyers; a sister, Martha Salyers and husband, David Hurand; niece, Georgia Will and husband, Kent Lulewich; brother-in-law, Jeff Gardner; nephews, Gates and wife, Megan, Miles and Clay Hurand; great nephews, Arthur and Kieran; his in-laws, Steve and Linda Ballard, Carol and Phil Ballard, and Gerard and Judi Ballard; nieces and nephews, Jude and Kim Ballard, Jennifer and Ryan Brown, Paula and Jason Boles, Walter and Amanda Ballard and Bridget Ballard, the little ones, Sophie, Lilly, Evelyn, Ryan, and Will; special friends, the McGlincy, Edelen and Shanchuk families, and Paul Baker.
Special thanks to Gretchen Houchin for her guidance, love, and support and the staff at the Nazareth Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holy Cross.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 pm on Friday, July 13, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville.
