Shelby Junior Tate, 72, Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on June 15, 1941 to Mary Lucy Wilkerson of Hodgenville and the late Shelby Raymond Tate.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Irene Treadway Tate; one brother, Samuel Estel Tate; and two sisters, Thelma Sue Adkins and Florence Ann Tate.
Besides his mother, he is survived by: three sons, Melvin Wayne Treadway, Shelby Eugene Tate, and Buddy Tate Jr. all of Lebanon; two daughters, Pamela Ballard of Bardstown and Brenda Bullock of Brodhead; five brothers, Johnny (Eda) Tate, Billy (Louise) Tate, Ricky (Marlene) Tate all of Lebanon, Otho (Mary) Tate of Washington County, and Herman Tate of Hodgenville; seven sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Reardon, and Virginia (Hucky) Hardin both of Lebanon, Mary Lee Reardon of Springfield, Rita (James) Tungate of Campbellsville, Mary Thelma (Ricky) Curtsinger of Hodgenville, and Jane (Jim) Bauer and Catherine (Henry) Hogue both of Mt. Washington; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jim Humes officiated.
Pallbearers were Robert Delaney, Curtis Griffin, Robert Tate, James Tate, James Hardin, and Wayne Smothers.
Honorary pallbearer was Shelby Tate.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
