James A. Parrish, 88, Campbellsville, died at 10:10 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Greensburg.

He was born on July 12, 1925 in Cumberland County. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Cox on Jan. 20, 1951. He was a retired cherry furniture maker for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents Hence Parrish and Pearl Aaron Parrish; and one brother and three sisters, Otis Junior Parrish, Lou Anna Cox, Margie Parrish, and Leva Pike.
Besides his wife, Geraldine Parrish, he is survived by: two sons, James Randall Parrish of Clearwater, Fla. and Gary Lynn Parrish of Lexington; two brothers and one sister, Lewis "Sie" Parrish and wife, Janetta Nell, Hiestand Parrish and wife, Vernice, and Mary Frances Keltner all of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Goldie Smith of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, Campbellsville, with burial in Brookside Cemetery. Rev. Larry Frisby officiated.
The family request expressions of sympathy be donations to Freedom Baptist Church building fund or Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
