Joseph Thomas "Tommy" Smith, 84, Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Spring View Hospital.

He was born on June 29, 1929 in Washington County. Smith was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a mechanic, and a retired teacher from the Marion County Vocational School.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Andrew and Mary Perkins Smith; three brothers, James, Richard and Lester Smith; and a sister, Gladys Daugherty.
Survivors include: his wife, Helen Wicker Smith of Lebanon; two sons, Terry (Fran) Smith of Loretto and Joey (Maria) Smith of Louisville; a daughter, Barbara "Barb" (Terry) Battcher of Lebanon; sister, Faye Yankee of Springfield; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, with interment in Old Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Steve Skaggs officiated.
Active pallbearers were Carl Hardin, Ronnie Bagwell, Matt Newcomb, David Mays, Ritchie Morris, and Casey Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers were Beth Cooper, Matthew Paul, Vincent Battcher and Madison Luckett, Paula, Michaela and Riley Morris, and Amber, D.J., Brynee, Jax, Chris, Alex, Terry, and Andrew Smith.
Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
