Kathy Lynn Netherland, 48, Bardstown, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Sep. 7, 1965 in Shelbyville. She received her Masters of Special Education from Campbellsville University, her Masters of Vocational Rehabilitation and Masters of Family Studies from the University of Kentucky. She was a special education teacher for the Bardstown School System, a member of KEA and Parkway Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Hayden Netherland, and her daughter, Samantha Grace Netherland.
She is survived by: her daughter, Holly Alyssa Netherland of Bardstown; parents, Norris Lee and Betty Lou Bryan Hardin of Bardstown; four sisters, Margaret Gayle Clark, Stephanie (Jamie) Clark Thompson both of Bardstown, Pamela (Beau) Adams of Louisville and Stacey Hardin (David) Hibbard of Springfield; her brother, Jeffrey (Brooke) Hardin of Louisville; her sister-in-law, Carla (Richard) Hodges of North Carolina and brother in law, Jan (Jill) Netherland of Florida.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. James Carroll will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy have been requested to Special Olympics of KY., KEA, and Nelson County Humane Society.
