Vingie Roe Powers, 76, Gravel Switch, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at the Lexington VA Hospital after an illness.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1937 to the late Harrison Powers and Zora Shearin Powers Lane. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired tool and dye maker.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant brother, Monty Leon Powers, and a brother, Dale Travis Powers.
Survivors include: his companion of 16 years, Nancy Alice Porter of Gravel Switch; two sons, Brian Powers of Gravel Switch and Kevin Powers of Indiana; four grandchildren, Levi, Lacy, Lillian, and Zachary; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen by the family, with burial in Ryder Cemetery at a later date.
Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of all arrangements.
