Alon Lee Spalding, 87, Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at Spring View Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1926 in Marion County. Spalding was a World War II Army veteran, a retired farmer, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Maggie Frances Sullivan Spalding; his parents, George Lee and Marguerite Abell Spalding; five brothers, Richard, Bill, Charles, George Jr., and J.A. Spalding; and three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Raley, Martha Brockman, and Zita Ann Dugan.
Survivors include: a son, Samuel Lee (Martha) Spalding of Lebanon; a daughter, Kay (Paul) Clark of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Angie Hall, Amy Stevenson, Michelle Mudd, and Nicholas Clark; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with interment in Lebanon National Cemetery with military honors conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. Bill Bowling officiated.
Pallbearers were Kevin and Michelle Mudd, Nicholas Clark, Bradley Clark, Amy and Davey Stevenson, and Angie and B.J. Hall.
