James Hamilton "Ham" Spalding, 95, Raywick, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Village of Lebanon.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1917 in Raywick. Spalding was a World War II Army veteran, a retired farmer, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Margie Sniffen Spalding; his second wife, Cora Abell Spalding; his parents, James Morton and Nellie Cooper Spalding; a son, Ricky Spalding; a brother, Gabriel Splading; and two sisters, Eleanor Sosienski and Dorothy Poppewell.
Survivors include: four sons, Hammy Spalding (Kathy), Sammy Spalding (Joyce), Pat Spalding (Edna) and Gabriel "Guber" Spalding, all of Raywick; three daughters, Mary Kennedy Newcome and Suzi O'Daniel (Leo), both of Raywick, and Marie Caldwell (Charlie) of Campbellsville; a daughter-in-law, Grace Spalding of Raywick; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with interment in St. Augustine Church Cemetery. Rev. Jim Graf officiated.
Pallbearers were Charlie Spalding, Jamie Bickett, Brad Spalding, Tommy Gordon, John Spalding, Taylor Cruse, Matt Newcome, and Ed Kirchner.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
