Columbus, GA- Johnny L. Haynes, 80, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 8, 2013 with his loving family at his side in Wetumpka, AL. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. EST in Vance-Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend David Howle officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST at the funeral home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Johnny L. Haynes was born September 28, 1932 in LaGrange, GA to the late Hubert Lee and Lillie Virginia Welch Haynes. Johnny is also preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda Hult Haynes, two brothers: Elbert Lee Haynes, Thomas M. Haynes, a sister Elsie Webb, and a grandson, John Wesley Larrew.
Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard. He later retired from Civil Service with over twenty two years of service as a supply technician. He was a longtime member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where he served as director of the men's prayer breakfast. After moving to Wetumpka, AL, Johnny joined First Baptist Church. He also enjoyed singing and traveling with the senior adult choir.
Johnny is survived by his three daughters and their spouses; Jonette and Clifford Larrew of Carrollton, GA, Melanie and Bruce Patrick of Wetumpka, AL, Paula and Reverend Mark E. Williams of Richland, GA; eleven grandchildren; Stephen Larrew and wife Jennifer, Joseph Larrew and wife Chelsea, Constance Larrew Billman and husband Edmund, Faith Marie Larrew, Andrew Patrick and wife, Jennifer, Michael Patrick, Daniel Patrick, Katherine Grace Patrick, Patricia Williams, Hannah Williams, and Brittany Williams; one great grandchild, Eliana Faith Billman.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to: Lake Martin Hospice, 9 Cambridge Court, Wetumpka, AL, or Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic, 1411 Wynnton Court, Columbus, GA 31907.

I hope you will find great peace in the memories you have of your dad. He truly loved his family. I had the pleasure of working with Johnny for many years at Fort Benning.

With heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. My family and I enjoyed getting to know Johnny at First Baptist Church in Wetumpka. He was prepared as a Christian to meet his Lord and savior.
