Phenix City, AL- Helen Marie McDougal Hicks, 81, of Phenix City, AL died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Montgomery, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hicks was born September 29, 1932 in Bartow, FL daughter of the late Cecil L. McDougal and Tiny Mae Long McDougal.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, MSgt. Bert Hicks and first husband, Senior MSgt. Gordon Shewmake and sister, Carol Jean McDougal.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Shewmake and Garry Shewmake (fiancé Paula Malone) all of Montgomery, AL; grandchild, Ashley Weston (David) of Montgomery, AL; two great-grandchildren, Brianna Ware and Gemma Weston both of Montgomery, AL; sitters, Angie Cooper, Gail Lee, Colleen Cooper of Columbus, GA, Pat Taylor and LaTonya Coleman of Montgomery, AL.
