Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marcus Sims, officiating. Interment will follow in Edmond Cemetery, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Friday, February 27, 2015 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Perry was born March 7, 1949 in Phenix City, AL to the late AC Perry, Sr. and the late Leary Stewart Perry. He had been employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Perry of Columbus, GA; one son, Marcus (Phelamand) Parker of Birmingham, AL; one daughter, Penny (Rev. Marcus) Sims of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Bernard Perry and Henry Perry, Sr. both of Phenix City, AL; four sisters, Ruby Johnson of Atlanta, GA; Mary Perry, Erma Thomas and Lois (Charlie) Evans all of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Parker, Eunice E. - Columbus  
Eunice E. Parker May 29, 1944- February 19, 2015 Columbus, GA- Miss Eunice Elaine Parker of Columbus passed away Thursday at Azalea Trace Nursing Home. She was 70 years of age. The daughter of Esker and Marie Dixon Parker, Miss Parker was born in Columbus, GA and was a 1963 graduate of Spencer High School. She attended Columbus Technical School where she obtained a degree as a Licensed Cosmetologist, and worked under the direction of Mrs. Marion Crowder. She later owner and operated her own shop. She was a life-long member of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher and with the Mission. Other than her parents, Miss Parker was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary F. Rogers, Benjamin Smith and her beloved twin sister, Bernice Parker. Survivors include: three brothers, Clarence H. smith, Jr., Marvin L. Smith, Sr. (Lula) and Elbert W. Smith (Ann); a very special niece and her "namesake", Eunice Parker Smith (Brian); a devoted cousin, Ann "Sis" Terry; a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The Homegoing Celebration for Miss Parker will be Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 12 noon at the Progressive Chapel with Pastor J. H. Flakes III officiating. Patterson Sr., Maurice Woodrow - Niceville  
Maurice Woodrow Patterson Sr. March 8, 1929- February 18, 2015 Niceville, FL- Funeral service for Mr. Maurice Woodrow Patterson Sr., 85, of Niceville, Florida and formerly of Birmingham will be Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mr. Patterson passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Sims State Veteran's Nursing Home in Springfield, Florida. He was born on March 8, 1929 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Albert Love Patterson and Agnes Louise Benson Patterson. He was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham. Mr. Patterson graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, AL and from the University of Alabama and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was a member of the ROTC program at the University of Alabama and served in the United States Army in the Korean War as a First Lieutenant. Mr. Patterson served as the State of Alabama Finance Director from 1959 - 1963. He was the owner and agent of Cedar Insurance Agency and Patterson Insurance Agency in Birmingham, Alabama. In his spare time he enjoyed boating and traveling. Mr. Paterson was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. He had a magnetic personality, loved people and they loved him in return. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Blackwell Patterson of Niceville, FL; daughter, Angela Patterson of Niceville, FL; sons, Maurice "Woody" Patterson, Jr. (Debra) and John Patterson (Cynthia), both of Birmingham; brothers, John Malcolm Patterson (Tina), of Goldville, Samuel Brewer Patterson (Aline), of Montgomery, and Jack Benson Patterson (Kay) of Virginia ; grandchildren ,Seth Patterson (Kalina), Lee Patterson (Lauren), Barbara Thayer (Kerion), John Patterson, Charlotte Cheatwood (Tim), and Mackenzie Reser; and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Love Patterson, Jr.; and sister, Maxine Patterson. Perkins June 27, 1950- February 18, 2015 Columbus, GA- Mrs. Carmen Virginia Wells Perkins,64 of Columbus, passed on February 18, 2015 at Lillian Carter Health and Rehabilitation Home in Plains, Georgia. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM, Today, February 24, 2015 at St. John AME Church with Rev. Dr. Debora F. Grant officiating. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS. She was born on June 27, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, to Roger and Dorothy Wells. A graduate of Washburn University, Mrs. Perkins was a lifelong educator, having taught for over 35 years. She enriched young minds from Topeka, Kansas to Stewart County to Muscogee County as a teacher, having taught at Daniel Middle and Double Churches Middle Schools. She received her Masters and specialist degrees from Troy State University. She was a member of St. John AME Church, Gamma Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., as well as, other professional and civic organizations. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Jolly, Sr., and her father, Roger W. Wells. She is survived by her three children, McKinley C. Patterson III , Jonathan S.E. Perkins and Charisse Perkins Woolridge (Michael); her mother, Mrs. Dorothy L. Wells; her sister, Rhonda Wells; her beloved grandchildren, Blair C. Patterson, Chandler E.M. Patterson, Mckinley C. Patterson IV, Mckenzie Patterson, Michael J, Woolridge II, Mariah C. Woolridge, Memphis J. Woolridge, Tianna Patterson, and Christian Patterson; and her friend and the father of her children, John H.
