Richard "Rick" Freeman Adkins August 8, 1950- July 29, 2015 Phenix City, Alabama- Richard "Rick" Freeman Adkins, age 65, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Saturday, August 1, 2015, 3 p.m. with Reverend Greg Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Mr. Adkins, son of Freeman Deleon Adkins and Dorothy Nell Ennis Adkins, was born August 8, 1950 in Elba, Alabama. He was retired from Motor Max, where he faithfully worked as Manager for many years. Mr. Adkins enjoyed time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fishing, working in his yard, cooking, and listening to music. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Courtney Paige Adkins Mitchell. Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rachael Wilkes Adkins of Phenix City, Alabama; two daughters, Amy Sudduth and her husband Dana and Brandy Donegan, all of Columbus; five grandchildren, Rickey Donegan, Chelsey Dudley, Cameron Dudley, Sophe Donegan, and Madison Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Donegan and Addailione Donegan; two sisters, Charlotte Register and Jane Mosely; one brother, Ennis Adkins and his wife Becky; two dogs, Moran and Stormy; and cat Snikers; many other relatives and friends. Gloria Jean Anderson October 6, 1958- July 20, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- Ms. Gloria Jean Anderson, 56, of Killen, TX formerly of Columbus, GA died Monday, July 20, 2015 in Metroplex Hospital, Killen, TX. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Williams pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave., Columbus, GA. Visitation will be 12-6 PM Friday, July 31, 2015 at the funeral home. Ms. Anderson was born October 6, 1958 in Columbus. GA; the daughter of the late Isaac Anderson and Juanita Jelks Anderson. She was employed for Shumaker High School, Killen, TX. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Anderson. Survivors include one daughter, Ronisha J. Anderson of Jonesboro, GA;, one sister, Charlene Anderson, three brothers, Isaac Anderson Jr., Phillip Anderson, and Rodney Anderson all of Columbus, GA;. four grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
