Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Jesse Grooms, pastor, Rev. Willie Lyles, officiating, Rev. Wendell Jones, eulogist. Interment will follow in Abercrombie Cemetery, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Monday, March 2, 2015 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Jackson was born January 6, 1956 in Phenix City, AL to Estella Lyles Jackson and the late Wiley Jackson. Survivors include his mother, Estella Jackson; his fiancé, Margaret Cobb; eight children, Lawrence (Jacqueline) Wilson, Jillian Estelle Smith, Ivory Smith, Tyashia Cobb, Deondra Cobb, Anthony Cobb, Jaqavious Cobb and Ivory Cobb; seven sisters, Gwendolyn (Eddie) Jones, Cynthia (Lee) Cantrell, Regina (Hayward) Williams, Annie Banks, Margaret Haggins, Glendis Jackson and Verna Jackson; two brothers, Wiley Lee Jackson, Jr. and Vernon Jackson; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Happy Birthday in Heaven Eddie Lee Jessie (Doc) 2/28/1930-12/16/2014 We know that your smile is shining down on us from Heaven. It has been 2 months and 12 days since you have been gone. We miss you dearly. Everyday of living is a gift from God and when he stops giving it that means you get to be with Him. Johnson Born September 25, 1927 Mt Vernon, IL He was the son of the late John Ellis Johnson and Edith Ethel Huff-Johnson. Widow of Grace Voce, 8 years. He Leaves behind wife of 52 years, Charlotte C. Johnson, daughter Grace (Tony) Jernigan, sons John (Beth), Jeffrey (Brenda), and Walter (Trudy) Johnson, grandsons Daniel, Adam, and Alex Johnson, Chad Jernigan, grand daughter Samantha Lawson, great granddaughters Taylor, Tillery, Trinity, Madelyn, Meredith, and Lorelei Johnson, great grandsons Hayden and Liam Johnson, step grandson Ladon McAllister, step-grand daughters Miste Sanchez and Monica Milner, step-great grand daugthers Ashley Milner, Holi Milner, Isabella Sanchez, Riley Milner, Owen Milner and Ethan Milner. Living siblings include a step-brother Paul Johnson and two sisters Virginia Shaw and Mary Fielder. Deceased siblings include Joseph Jack Johnson, Robert Tubby Johnson, Fred Johnson, Levi Johnson,, Maxine Johnson, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was a 50 Year Mason in Wilson Williams 351 Masonic Lodge, a member of Alcazar Shriners and Shriners International, He was a member of the Alcazar Road Runners Unit providing transportation to Shriners Hospitals for Children, He was President of the Phenix City Shrine Club in 2012, he was awarded the title of Ambassador At Large in Alcazar Shriners. He was a member of St. James Freewill Baptist Church He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of honorable service, He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. After his military service he embarked upon a career as an over the road truck driver which he maintained until the age of 82. He accumulated over 4 million accident free miles during his career. He enjoyed professional wrestling, fishing, working bingo at the Phenix City Shrine Club, playing cards, gardening, and had a passion for watching and feeding birds, one of his greatest joys in life was to make others laugh. Members of Phenix City Shrine Club will serve as pall bearers. Visitation 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, February 27th Striffler Hamby Funeral Home Phenix City, AL Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, February 28th in the Chapel at Striffler Hamby Funeral Home officiated by Pastor David Dollar Burial following service in Lakeview Memory Gardens w/Military and Full Masonic Rights Celebration of Life following burial service Phenix City Shrine Club 1911 Opelika Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.

Judy Ann Johnson November 21, 1943- March 4, 2015 Columbus, GA- Judy Ann Johnson, 71, of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Phenix City Health Care. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. A private family burial will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson was born November 21, 1943 in Coffee County, Douglas, GA, daughter of the late Hayden Day and Annie Ragsdale Day. She was retired from Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance as the secretary trainer. Judy was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was involved in many other activities. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, W. T. Johnson of Columbus, GA; son, Todd Johnson (Marcia), Cumming, GA; daughters, Michelle Morrison (Mark) of Columbus, GA and Tonia Williams (Dee) of Phenix City, AL; sister, Betty Lanier (Richard) and brother, Joe Day (Margaret) all of Douglas, GA; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Morrison of Navarre Beach, FL, Alexis Johnson of Cumming, GA, Trey Williams and Alexis Williams both of Phenix City, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Rodger Dean Johnson July 22, 1954 - February 28, 2015 Phenix City, AL- Rodger Dean Johnson, 60, of Phenix City, AL, entered the Church Triumphant, Saturday, February 28, 2015, at his home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST, at Vance Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm EST, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Interment will be for the family at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL. The youngest son of Herman and Martha Johnson, Dean was born July 22, 1954 in Chatom, AL. He grew up in Greenville, Al and graduated from Greenville High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Shorter College. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and the outdoors. Dean's personal ministry was encouraging others with similar physical challenges. Through his health challenges these past few years he has taught his family and others love, endurance, and grace. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and several close relatives. Dean was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rose Johnson; children, Constance Johnson, Matthew Johnson Sr. (Alyssa) and Sarah Catherine Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson Jr. and soon to arrive Wesley Dean Johnson; brothers, Fred M. Johnson (Joan) and Douglas M. Johnson (Henrietta); aunt, Mamie Simmons; uncle, Rev. Marvin Johnson (Jean) and other extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Building Fund, 4026 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, in memory of Rodger Dean Johnson. The family appreciates all those who lovingly helped Dean over the years.
