Michael F. Harkins January 17, 1932- May 17, 2015 Columbus, GA- Michael F. Harkins, 83, of Columbus, Georgia died Sunday May 17, 2015 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held 4 PM Friday May 22, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Chaplain Mitch Huling officiating. Visitation will follow the services at the funeral home. Mr. Harkins was born January 17, 1932 in New York, NY. the son of the late Michael C. Harkins, II and Bridget Thompson Harkins. He retired as a teacher with the Muscogee County School District teaching at Carver High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Lily Sandoval Harkins of Columbus, GA., daughter, Mary H. Falls (Ralph) of Columbus, GA., son, Michael S. Harkins of Atlanta, GA., brother, John J. SSG (Ret) James David Hasty September 18, 1930- May 26, 2015 Columbus, GA- SSG (Ret) James David Hasty 84, of Columbus, Ga. died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Columbus Hospice House. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Bro. David Chapman officiating. Friends planning on attending the service are asked to meet at 9:15 A.M. Friday at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus to proceed to the cemetery. Mr. Hasty was born September 18, 1930 in Meigs, GA son of the late Tommie Lee and Annie Mae Golden Hasty. He retired from the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. Other than his parents, Mr. Hasty was preceded in death by his wife Katharina Anna Hasty and his grandson Jonathan Truette. Survivors include one son, J.W. Lee Hasty of Denver, CO, three daughters, Anna Rosemarie Gress (Ron) of Fountain, CO, Christel Jean Miller (Paul) of Midland, GA, Terry Lee Hasty of Montgomery, AL, six grandchildren, April Paniter, Patricia Kohl, David Barton, Casey Chesser, Nikki Harrington and Brandi Johnson, and 15 great grandchildren. Haugen, Evelyn Hunt Sanders - Newnan  
Evelyn Hunt Sanders Haugen May 4, 1933- May 23, 2015 Newnan, GA- Mrs. Evelyn Hunt Sanders Haugen, 82, of Newnan passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home. She was born May 4, 1933, in Decatur, Alabama to the late Walter Drane Sanders and Clara Berry Hunt Sanders. Evelyn grew up in Newnan, Georgia and was a 1951 graduate of Newnan High School. She attended college first at Sweetbriar College and graduated from University of Georgia where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. She was elected valedictorian of the University of Georgia class of 1955. After college, Evelyn lived in Washington DC where she worked in the State Department. While in Washington, she met Willis G. Haugen, who was then serving in the Navy at the Pentagon. The two would marry in 1956 and remained devoted to each other until Will's death in November, 2014. Will Haugen was her best friend. Evelyn was a homemaker until her boys grew up. She then worked for years as a travel agent at Newnan Travel. She was one of the founders of The Heritage School. She was a member of the Newnan Reading Circle. She was a lifelong member of the Newnan Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon. She served as president of the Women of the Church and was an honorary lifetime member of the Presbyterian Women of the Church. The funeral is Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Newnan Presbyterian Church, followed by a burial at Oak Hill cemetery with Dr. Harry Barrow and Dr. George Haugen officiating. The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 beginning at 7:00 PM and continuing until 9:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. Hildreth, Frances Ragsdale - Thomson  
Frances Ragsdale Hildreth January 10, 1933- May 25, 2015 Columbus, GA- Frances Ragsdale Hildreth, age 82, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans, GA. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. One hour prior to the 2 p.m. Funeral Service followed by Interment at Evergreen Memory Gardens on St. Mary's Road, Columbus, GA, with the Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. Mrs. Hildreth was born on January 10, 1933, daughter of Allen Milton Ragsdale and Susie Mickle Ragsdale. She married Carlton Donald Hildreth June 16, 1950 in Columbus, GA. She had three sons, Kenneth Charles Hildreth, Bobby Don Hildreth and Carlton Donald Hildreth, Jr. She was a longtime member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, a former member and Sunday School teacher at North Highland Assembly of God and one of the founding members of Riverview Assembly of God where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Hildreth was very active in her community. She served as PTA President at River Road Elementary, Daniel Junior High and Jordan High School. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, where she served as Publicity Chairman. She also was a member of the Columbus Chapter of the Columbus Credit Women's International and also served as the State Treasurer of the Credit Women's International. She served as a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Gideons International having served as President, Secretary and State Hostess Chairman for the Gideon's State Convention. She and her husband Don held monthly services at the Valley Rescue Mission, and provided music services at Magnolia Manor, Heritage Hills and Riverplace Retirement home. Mrs. Hildreth retired from Martin Army Hospital, on April 1, 1995 after 20 years as a Civil Service Employee in the Resource Management Division. Survivors include her son Bobby Don Hildreth and his wife Gail of Thomson, GA, daughter-in-law, Theresa Hildreth of Columbus, GA, granddaughter, Lindsey Welch and her husband Seth of Watkinsville, GA; grandson, Justin Hildreth and his wife Katie of Cumming, GA; and grandson, Chuck Olson and his wife Michelle of Ozark, AL, four great grandchildren, Samuel Olson of Ozark Alabama, Landry and Davis Welch of Watkinsville, GA and Blakely Hildreth of Cumming, GA, a niece Jennifer Campbell and her husband Keith of Summerville, SC, a niece Sandra Ragsdale, of Fredericksburg, WV and several other cousins, great nieces and nephews, family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Susie Ragsdale, her husband Don Hildreth, sons, Ken and Carl Hildreth, and brothers Buddy and Terry Ragsdale. Hotard D.D.S., Joseph Armand - Columbus  
Joseph Armand Hotard D.D.S. December 31, 1935- May 21, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- Joseph Armand Hotard D.D.S, age 79, resident of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled on Sunday, May 24, 2015, 3:00pm in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, with Father O'Connell officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 5:00-7:00pm. Dr. Hotard's final resting place will be at Parkhill Cemetery. Dr. Hotard, son of the late Joseph Leslie Hotard and Evelyn Louise Pacetty, was born December 31, 1935 in Columbus, Georgia. He was a Retired Endodontist and with a private practice in Atlanta. Dr. Hotard was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a very well educated man and had many accomplishments to celebrate in his lifetime. Dr. Hotard attended and graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Louisiana State University in 1958, he was the biggest LSU fan imaginable. He was also initiated into the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Premedical Honor Society during his schooling at LSU. After graduation, he attended University of Oklahoma and certified in Cytotechnology. Dr. Hotard enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant in 1969. Shortly after his service, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Emory University and was member in the Supreme Chapter at Delta Sigma Delta. Dr. Hotard served his residency in Endodontia at the Veterans Administration Hospital from 1971-1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, in which he then completed his Postgraduate Program in Endodontics from Emory University. Dr. Hotard was a very active member in both the American Dental Association as well as the American Association of Endodontists. He was preceded in death by his parents; and oldest son, Joseph Martin Hotard. Dr. Hotard is survived by his wife, Susan Cummings Hotard; son, Christopher Bryan Hotard; granddaughter Jessica Bailey Hotard; step-son, Jonathan Kyle Cummings (Colleen); step-daughter, Susan Cummings Haycock (Carlton); step-grandchildren, John, Tyler, Madison, Story; brothers, T. Gabriel Hotard D.D.S. (Patricia), Neil Hotard (Karen), Laurence K. Hotard; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Condolences may be offered at www.shcolumbus.com .

Whitley Gloria Mae Hughes November 7, 1935- May 21, 2015 Phenix City, AL- Gloria Mae Hughes Whitley, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2015 at Canterbury Heath Care in Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Whitley was born November 7, 1935 in North Carolina to the late Johnnie Temple Hughes and Maybelle Conner Hughes. She had worked in retail most of her life and was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Whitley, a son, Richard Guill, Jr., two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her children, Pamela Jarrell and husband Kenneth of Seale, AL, Keith Guill of Poquoson, VA, Brian Guill of Newport News, VA, and Craig Guill of California, (14) grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. The family plans to hold a private memorial remembrance service at a later date in memory of Mrs. Gloria Mae Whitley.

Regina Hunter June 24, 1972- May 21, 2015 Columbus, GA- Regina Hunter was born in Columbus, Georgia on June 24, 1972, the daughter of James Worthey, Jr. and Lizzie R. Worthey. On May 21, 2015, the Lord called her home. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mind of Christ Ministries, 2983 Hawthorne Dr, Columbus, Georgia 31903. Regina received Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was a member of Mind of Christ Ministries. Regina attended Marshall Junior High School. During her life, she was employed at Cagle Chicken Plant, Zaxbys, Marriott, Charbroil, Wal-Mart, Panasonic, and also worked as a cook and decorator at The Bradley Theatre. Regina was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Phillip I. Worthey. Regina's memory will forever be cherished by two daughters, Monneka D. Worthey of Columbus, Georgia, Brittany N. Worthey of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Jamorris C. Worthey, Jessie D. Worthey, Shedrick L. Worthey, all of Columbus, Georgia; one granddaughter, Serenity L. Worthey of Columbus, Georgia; one sister, Latoya L. Worthey; two nieces, Tra'Niya A. Worthey, Ta'Livia A. Worthey; one nephew, Tristen A. Worthey, all of Columbus, Georgia; two aunts, Helen Scott, Shirley (Eddie) Stephenson, both of Columbus, Georgia; two uncles, Willie Felton Barnum, John (Bessie) Stephenson, and a host of cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
