Ella Mae Jenkins November 7, 1931 - December 12, 2014 Phenix City, AL- Mrs. Ella Mae Jenkins, 83, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at Midtown Medical Center (Columbus Specialty Hospital), Columbus, GA. Mae was born on November 7, 1931, in Cottonwood, AL; the daughter of the late Madie and Johnnie Pinkney. She was a member of St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Duraso, and second husband, Henry B. Jenkins; Sister Irma Locke; Brother Earl Pinkney. She was employed at the Old Swift Mill as a spinner; Supervisor at the Sewing Factory; and a dispatcher for the family owned mobile home business; later to retire to spend time at home, camping, and with family and friends. She was Past President and member of the Phenix City Shrinettes since 1980; long-time member and Past Worthy Matron of Monroe Fuller, Chapter No. 521, Order of the Eastern Star, Crawford, AL; and member of the Alphurah Temple No. 126 Daughters of the Nile, Montgomery, AL. and local Phenix City Daughters of the Nile, Phenix City, AL. "Momma Mae" loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Jesse Duraso (wife Diane); sister "Big" Carolyn; brothers Johnnie Pinkney (wife Diane) and Billy Pinkney (wife Carolyn); grandchildren Kevin Duraso (fiancée Shannon) and Traci Davis (husband Chad); great-grandchildren Coleman, Taylor, Bailey, Drake, Dylan, Tyler, and Katie Mae; special brother-in-laws Junior and Charles Jenkins of Florence, AL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Chapel, Phenix City, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm followed by a service at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby, with internment at Ft. Mitchell Cemetery with Reverend Steven Windham officiating. Pallbearers will be; Kevin Duraso, Coleman Duraso, Cody Hudson, Dalton Hudson, John Pinkney, Stoney Smith, Greg and Keith Moore. Mae was an avid Bingo player and traveled with, "Slick" on many Children's Hospital trips to Greenville Shriners Hospital, SC. "Momma Mae" will truly be missed by her family. We love you!
